Willowglen Renewables Limited

Willowglen Renewables Limited has been funded by Downing Renewables EIS to construct an anaerobic digestion plant, which will be managed by Greener for Life Energy Limited (GfL), a specialist consultancy and developer of AD plants with a growing portfolio of clients demonstrating its expertise in the sector. The plant has been designed by Biogest Energie.

The plant will be located at Hogsbrook Farm, Exeter, which will also be a primary provider of the feedstock. The project will provide a closed loop waste solution, using locally sourced organic waste and crops to produce renewable energy as well as a nutrient rich bio-fertiliser which can be spread back to local farmland.

Electricity generated by the plant is expected to qualify for Feed in Tariffs (FITs), a government-backed incentive for the deployment of renewable energy in the UK. Electricity not used by the plant will be sold into the National Grid.
