London-based investment manager Downing LLP is pleased to announce the appointment of Torsten Mack as Investment Director to its growing healthcare investment team.

Torsten has developed significant experience as an investment professional for over 20 years. Most recently, he was an owner and the Commercial Director of the Aurora Group, a leading specialist education provider in the UK, where he was instrumental in setting up the company by leading and delivering the growth strategy. Prior to Aurora, Torsten was a Principal at BC Partners, a global private equity fund, and the Director of Corporate Development at the Priory Group, the UK’s leading independent mental healthcare and specialist education company.

In his new role, Torsten will be responsible for origination, transaction and portfolio management of growth and development capital investments in the healthcare sector with a focus on elderly residential care, specialist care, specialist education and children’s nurseries.

Downing has been investing in healthcare since 1997 to support the growth and development of UK based businesses. Downing has also recently been announced as a HealthInvestor Awards 2019 finalist for Healthcare Private Equity Investor of the Year.
