Josh McCathie serves as the Lead Manager for both the VT Downing Unique Opportunities Fund and the VT Downing Small & Mid-Cap Income Fund. He employs a quality value investment approach, aiming to identify UK companies with overlooked quality business models or those underappreciated for their potential to compound earnings growth and dividend distributions over the medium to long term.

Josh joined Downing in 2018 and brings over 10 years’ investment management experience. His expertise has been shaped by a strong analytical discipline and a pragmatic investment approach across UK equities, having previously worked at BRI Wealth Management, focusing on research and constructing portfolios for high-net-worth individuals.
