In 2017 Downing funds invested into Populo Energy Limited, the owner of C&G Renewables Limited, which owns two WTN 250 wind turbines. The project was developed by Arcus Consulting, a leading environmental, planning and engineering consultancy with developments across Europe and Africa. In 2019 ownership of the windfarm was transferred to Nerth Energy Limited (also owned by Downing managed funds).
Wind Technik Nord (“WTN”) supplied the turbines to the project and provides O&M services to the windfarm under a renewed 5-year agreement through to the end of 2023.
Built in Germany, the WTN250 turbine has a global track record, with 99% availability proven over more than two decades of operations. It is suited to areas with medium to high wind resources.
